Here’s how to make your dreams become reality…
It starts at the end. This sounds inconceivable, but it’s true. Begin with a vision of your organized life. How would it look? How would it function? How would it feel?
Now that you’ve created your vision, you’ve established a goal. And your objective is to outline and execute the steps required to achieve that goal.
Begin by working backwards and identify the obstacles, challenges or roadblocks that have been preventing you from accomplishing your goal. Could it be you have too much stuff and not enough space? Your action step is to reduce and eliminate some stuff. Or perhaps you don’t feel like you have an adequate amount of time to engage in such a project? Your action step is to schedule and plan this activity just like any other on your calendar or in your planner. Or it could just be you don’t know where to start? In this case, your action step is to start small. One section of a counter top, or one shelf in a closet or cupboard or just one small corner of a room.
After completing these major action steps, all that remains is to group your stuff into similar like categories depending on the function and purpose of the items and assign them into ‘homes’ or places where you’ll most likely go to get them when needed and more importantly, where they’ll be easy to put away after your done using them.
With a few finishing touches such as adding and utilizing bins, baskets and other assorted storage products to keep things contained in a neat and orderly fashion, you’ll be reward with results!
