You must always keep your eyes on the balls (tasks) at all times! It requires constant focus and attention. Loose your focus on one task and most likely the others will fall out of sync.

Dropping the ball (tasks) results in the heartbreak of missing out on opportunities. Perhaps you procrastinated on opening the mail for several days and now discovered you’re late paying a billing statement and consequently end up paying more in late fees. Or maybe you did not respond to that email invitation to attend an event in a timely manner and missed out on attending a special occasion with your closest friends.
Life presents us with many routine tasks and activities that we must engage in everyday whether we like them or not. Most often it’s not fun, but necessary anyway.
The key to an organized life with less stress and more success is to make every task in your life fun, exciting and enjoyable!
The way to do it is to tackle the routine tasks in a timely manner so you get them out of the way, which leaves you more time to enjoy the ones that bring you more satisfaction. Think of it as kind of a warm up routine to the things that matter most in your life.
Think of them as a competition… a race in fact… knock off those things you dread doing right now so they don’t pile up into clutter. Completing three routine tasks in 3 minutes will save you 30 minutes later for something you really want to do. Set a time or use a stop watch and time yourself on how many routine tasks you can knock off at a time. You might be amazed at your abilities!
It can be difficult at first, but with practice it becomes routine. Pick up the balls (tasks) and start again. It’s a balancing act, like walking a tight wire. You may feel a little wobbly at first, but it becomes easier the more you do it.
And how satisfying is it to compete and win! It’s fun! It gives you a great sense of accomplishment and encourages you to compete again… and again.
Now that you have gained self-confidence and the ability to keep all the balls (tasks) of life in perpetual motion, the fear of dropping them out of sync becomes distant.
